Who doesn’t love Mercury in Gemini, I think we’re all pretty sad to see it leave its home sign. While the upcoming Mercury-Saturn square on June 8th might be tough, it’s nothing you won’t be able to get through. I feel like we’re all acclimating to spring’s energetic frequency. Things aren’t so cold and rigid. It’s softer and easier to lean into the current, even if it’s a little quick for comfort at times.
How have things been feeling since the new moon on May 26? Are any of your intentions starting to come to life? For those of us who practiced some form of ritual that evening, I know we really felt that energy. It was a potent new moon, and I’m personally really excited to see what culminates during the full moon coming up on June 11th.
🌠 AstroMagick | Astrology forecast
June 6 | Align with creative people to fuel your creativity
Venus moves into Taurus
Venus is in her element in Taurus, which is well deserved after the last few months. Things will start to feel a little less tense, and you’ll feel like you have the capacity to put some roots down, especially in your creative life.
Lean into the unknown, take chances, and let yourself unwind a little. The universe is calling you to take a chance right now. Not that it’ll work out, but there’s something really unique and special about trying something new. This is true for all aspects of life, especially regarding your passion project, art, and self-expression. Right now is the time for leaning into the unknown.
The astrological timing is delicious for making new friends — ones that are energetically and spiritually aligned, so be open to that, too. So many doors are opening; there’s nothing wrong with looking through them and seeing where they might lead.
🌸 Creativity Jar Spell: Fill a small jar with herbs like lavender, basil, and thyme; add a tiny quartz crystal and a slip of paper with your artistic intention. Seal and shake whenever you need inspiration.
June 8 | Tuning out the self-doubt
Mercury Cancer ingress
Try to be easy on yourself, like ridiculously so. That cycle of limiting thoughts, beliefs, and social constructs is going to be sitting on your shoulders like bricks. Feeling cold and lost on the journey isn’t favorable, but it happens to the best of us every once and a while.
Do what you can to energetically warm yourself up. Choose to forgive yourself, lean into self-care, and keep up with your spiritual hygiene. Even if it feels tough, impossible, or it’s just not working for you anymore — just take a few moments to sit with yourself in silence. See what comes up, and just notice it, nothing more.
This isn’t a time to criticize yourself, your body, or your mind. How long have you listened to outdated inner narratives? When is enough, enough? What will inspire you to rewrite the paradigm?
💧 Self-Forgiveness Bath: Add sea salt and/or chamomile to your bath. Speak aloud a forgiveness mantra (e.g., “I release the version of myself I no longer need”). Let the water wash away what you’re releasing.
🔮Tool of the week
Whether you’re navigating heavy energy, crowded spaces, or just craving a stronger sense of safety in your field, working with a protection stone can be a powerful ally to have in your pocket (literally!)
From the grounding embrace of black tourmaline to the mirror-like deflection of obsidian or the gentle shielding of smoky quartz, each stone offers its own flavor of boundary magic. The most intuitive way to pick your stone isn’t always about what the books say, but it’s more along the lines of how it makes you feel (with a few being an exception to the rules).
Protection stones are easy to work into your daily practice — whether you carry it in your pocket, add it to a charm bag, or place it at the threshold of your space.
See what the stone has to say when you pick it up at the crystal stop next time, the resonance is what matters most.
Classic protection stones
Black Tourmaline – The go-to for energetic shielding and grounding. It’s like a spiritual vacuum, transmuting negativity into neutral energy. Great for emotional overwhelm or protecting your mental & energetic energy.
Black Obsidian – A volcanic glass with a mirror-like quality that repels negativity and reveals hidden truths. Protective, intense, and best used with intention + grounding.
Smoky Quartz – A gentler protector that grounds and transmutes heavy energy. Beautiful for folks who want shielding without feeling walled off.
Amethyst – Protective on a psychic and spiritual level. Helps guard against spiritual attack, addiction, or energetic entanglements.
Hematite – Reflective and grounding, great for deflecting unwanted energy and helping you stay present in your body.
Lesser-known but powerful allies
Jet – Fossilized wood often used in mourning magic and deep ancestral work. Excellent for grief, psychic protection, and cord-cutting rituals.
Labradorite – A stone of mystics and seers; forms a protective aura around the user and helps keep your energy sovereign while doing spiritual work.
Fluorite – Especially useful in mentally chaotic spaces. Protects from psychic clutter and environmental stressors.
Bronzite – Reflects negative energy back to the sender without absorbing it. Ideal for boundary setting and return-to-sender work.
🌿 Homestead highlight
I wish I had some insightful quote about mindfulness and gardening, or how excited I am for the summer solstice — it’s been pretty dang cool to see the garden come back to life. The potatoes are starting to pop off (our first time growing them) and the cucumbers are starting the climb the trellis!
I love looking forward to the daffodils during the first breath of spring, and the lilies starting to open up when we’re drifting toward summer. There’s always so much excitement in our house about the lightning bugs too.I truly don’t think that childlike wonder will ever go away with those, it’s probably my absolute favorite thing about summer. There’s something about being in the backyard, watching the sun go down and the fireflies come to life that I’ll never get tired of.
Take this as your sign to appreciate this flavor of spring, whatever that means to you. Take in a little bit of evening sun, sit among the trees, or star gaze for a moment while you let the dogs out at night.
