Feb 12 | Working past triggers
Full moon in Leo
This full moon signature will be one with a new current of energy, especially one regarding folks in your local community. Make sure you’re approaching this day, and the ones immediately before and after it with a little more care toward grocery workers, service workers, or within networking communities. Take a beat if someone pisses you off, and walk away before it becomes a teaching moment. Folks around you might even be triggering something deep down that you thought you worked through.
The possibility for a misunderstanding, or for someone to take something totally to heart is pretty high. Full moons have a way of elevating your emotions, and this one has a strong signature of emotional overwhelm, mixed with a little disillusionment. This isn’t the full moon to do shadow work, as the water is too murky to come to any solid conclusions. You’re better off detaching a bit and letting things flow. Though, be aware that now more than ever, letting things go will be easier said than done. Don’t fall into obsessive thoughts or patterns, especially around work, inner chatter, or health concerns.
🛡️ Protection Charm – Enchant a piece of jewelry or a small token with the intention of maintaining peace in your interactions. Charge it under the full moon and carry it for the days surrounding the full moon. With each full moon that you wear this charm, its workings grow stronger. Try to dedicate this item to be utilized only during the lunations, and if it breaks, know it did its job and protected you to its fullest extent.
Feb 14 | Evaluating financial boundaries
Mercury in Pisces
The beginning of quite a sticky transit, that is, if you don’t pay attention to the boundaries your life is desperately craving and calling out for. You’ll feel a sort of shock to the system, and feel immediately called to make some changes. You’ll probably feel this in a financial sense. Be on the lookout for anything easily changeable within your budget to bring you more security. Don’t just talk about it, make it happen.
Right now you have the unique opportunity to fall into a whirlwind of inspiration. The key is going to be channeling it appropriately, and not letting it take you away in the current. Planning, strategy, and passion are needed — but not very available to your constitution right now. Let yourself experiment and play, and worry about the exact plan later. Just don’t make huge purchases during this creative phase. You want to keep things fluid and let them change at a moment’s notice. Complicating this flow with money, purchases, and plans ruins the experience.
✍️ Financial Clarity Sigil – Draw a sigil representing financial stability and place it in your wallet or on your budgeting app’s home screen to help ground your money decisions. If you feel like you overspend in the digital world, put it behind your phone case, or tape it to your laptop or computer.
🔮Tool of the week
Last week I let you in on some tips on making cards a part of your divination practice. One of the key points is something I call “setting the stage”. This looks different for everyone, and there’s a good reason it needs to. You want your unique energy signature intertwined with every aspect of your practice. You want the universe to know it’s you on the other end of the line, a familiar line at that.
This inspired me to talk about how important altars are, as they’re quite literally a stage for the spiritual elements within your home. If you are curious about how to build an altar or want to make yours more potent, that’s a video I’m currently working on, and I know you’ll love it. The most incredible thing about an altar is there’s no right or wrong way to do it, but there is some housekeeping to make it more energetically charged.
The first thing is making sure your altar is clean. Now, there’s no need to be obsessive, but it shouldn’t be a neglected and forgotten corner of your home. Especially if it’s dedicated to a loved one or a deity, you need to put some TLC in there. A spirit or deity isn’t going to want to land there if it’s clear that they’re not welcome.
Think about ways to be more inviting with that dedicated energetic space. Do you regularly light candles? Do you visit it often or do you send intentions there daily? Keeping an altar shouldn’t be something that’s taxing necessarily, but it should be something that’s maintained.
Lastly, this isn’t exhaustive, but offerings should be left — especially if this is for an ancestor or deity. Double down if you’re asking for favors, guidance, or clarity from these beings. The love needs to be reciprocated. It’s a relationship, not necessarily a give-and-take. Remember when you’re working with deities, and new-to-you ones at that, take it slow and don’t ask for anything too soon. It’s better to be more of a host, and someone these spirits can rest with than making it all about exchange.
🌿 Homestead highlight
I’ve been seeing folks all around the internet using Canva to plan their gardens - and we’re no different in this house. It worked great for getting what’s in my wife’s mind out into the physical.
We just got a bunch of free wood (thanks to Facebook marketplace) and garden stakes too. Now that our seeds are planned out, it’s time to resurrect last year’s raised beds and start constructing the new garden beds, too! Remember that your garden doesn’t need to be fancy. Don’t let the face value of the internet trick you into thinking everything needs to be aesthetically pleasing. You can get so much joy out of reusing materials to make something as bountiful as a garden.
This year we got some new seeds, and once they’re here I’ll let you know about the experience! I’m also ordering some medicinal herb seeds, that way I can start growing my tea preparations. Dried herbs are expensive, but what isn’t expensive nowadays? The plan is to be as self-sustainable as we can, tea and herbs included!
🌕Lunar ritual🌘
Fire Release Ritual
Using the act of fire in a ritual is something that many folks use, sometimes it’s a ritual and they don’t even realize it. Burning all of your ex’s photos? Burning old love letters? That’s a ritual, baby.
I love using fire for my full moon rituals. Especially ones in a fire sign, the energy is just that much more potent. There’s such an open opportunity to change so much within the lunation. Utilizing the element of fire is empowering, powerful, and I’d go as far as saying life life-changing.
For this full moon ritual, write down anything that’s been fueling obsessive thoughts, work stress, or negative self-talk. Burn the paper under the moonlight, releasing its hold on you. Read it out loud before you burn it, and end with “I release thee”.
