Aug 14 | Revisitng Mercury in Leo

Mercury retrogrades back to the sign of Leo

Remember what you and I talked about last week when it comes to Mercury retrogrades, especially when this planet moves from it’s home sign of Virgo backwards into Leo.

Patterns are going to be rewinding and following the same threads as the ones tied to the past. Don’t be surprised if old conversations have a way of rehashing themselves, or if you feel like you’re living in a time warp. As Mercury moves back and traces its steps backward, things regarding conversation, travel, communication, and your work life might feel like they’re in the washing machine.

However, as I tell friends and clients alike - some of my best ideas and moments happen during retrogrades. It’s a time to rework and rehash all things mercurial. Don’t get bogged down with the details when things don’t go right, and don’t let it go to your head. Roll with the punches, and don’t lose your cool when things don’t go according to plan. Sometimes, the universe has a way of showing you things in a way you’d least expect - and that’s what Mercury retrogrades are often here to do. They’re meant to take you for a ride, even if it can be uncomfortable at times.

These periods can teach you gratitude while being stuck in traffic, stillness when stuck in a queue, and refinement in rumination. As Mercury works its way backward, expect the unexpected. Make sure you don’t lose control of your temper when things go awry and steer clear of outwardly trying to people please. Getting caught up in what others think will only make this transit more troublesome than it’s meant to be.

Let yourself settle into the unknown and get comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Aug 19 | Getting comfortable with the uncomfortable

Full Moon in Aquarius

This full moon might not bring exactly everything that you’re looking for - but it’ll definitely be tying up some loose ends.

Emotionally, things might feel absolutely impossible to get through. It might feel like an unaskable task to distract yourself. However, there is also a good chance that if you’re not swept up in the emotion, you’ll have a good chance at compartmentalizing it. Your problems will either feel in front of your face - or in outer space. What won’t vary, is the idea, sensation, or physicality that a major chapter in your life is coming to a close. This isn’t inherently a good thing or a bad thing, but something that’s been heavy on your mind will finally come to a head and you’ll see yourself on the other side of the conflict or situation soon enough. This might manifest in recent challenges with communication, community, or even something to do with your family. This change in pace might be exactly what you need to take other areas of your life to the next step, so don’t get too caught up in the current.

You’ll feel restricted in how you can process all of this emotionally, and might even feel isolated once you get swept up in everything. It’s important to realize that while you might feel like you’re on your own, in reality, you’re not. It’ll just feel harder than usual to reach out to your support system to vent about what’s going on. Even if it feels trivial or minute - reach out to those who care about you. If you’re still doubting the fact that you have a reliable community around you, make sure that the boundaries and walls around your heart aren’t built too high. Like I said, there’s a lot coming to a close right now, and odds are it won’t be particularly comfortable but there’s a lot of healing about to happen.

Sometimes, it feels like the lens is too foggy to see the outcome in the distance, and right now is one of those moments. Don’t let the idea of possible failure get in the way of overcoming blocks around communication. This transit will likely feel sticky, but that’s because change is usually uncomfortable. Try focusing on tangible facts to ground yourself when you feel especially flighty. I can’t stress how important it’ll be to connect with your support system, your spirituality, or a mixture of both.

Listen to your heart instead of the whirlwind of thoughts in your head.

Weekly favs 💚

On repeat 🎵Even if it’s almost the middle of the month, I just started The Astrology Podcast’s month-ahead episode for August. I recommend this podcast for anyone trying to take their astrology study more seriously!

Meal prep 🥑 Things have been a little crazy as far as our meal prepping goes, but a constant breakfast staple I can always look forward to is my Simple Kneads organic gluten-free sourdough! They’re handmade in North Carolina, but you can ship their breads all over the United States!

On my nightstand 📚 Kathleen Medina’s “Tarot A to Z” became available through my local library’s online database on Libby. I’m diving into some beginner books so I can give folks vetted resources on learning the basics. I’ll be back with an update next week! If you’re a bookworm too, let’s connect on Goodreads!

What’s in my cup ☕

These cool summer mornings are perfect for sitting down with my favorite cup of coffee. Of course, it’s all about moderation since I’m sensitive to caffeine, but it’s nice to finally find a coffee that doesn’t make me feel like I need to unzip my skin. Bonus points since it’s fair trade and organic, something really important to me especially if I’m integrating it into my weekly consumption.

I mentioned last week that I was trying a new coffee creamer that had a bunch of added amino acids and compounds to help me feel more focused throughout the day. I’ve already told y’all how much I love L-theanine, but this creamer added some L-tyrosine to the mix, too!

L-tyrosine is an amino acid that enhances cognitive function, reduces stress and fatigue, supports mood, improves physical performance, and can aid in weight management. It works by boosting neurotransmitter production, helping to maintain focus, mood balance, and overall well-being, especially in stressful situations. I’ve been having a particularly stressful week, and this creamer has made I difference, more than I thought it would!
