Astrology forecast 🌠

April 29 | Make time for pleasure

Venus moves into Taurus

What a juicy time to dive into all things beautiful, self-fulfilling, and creativity-inducing. Venus thrives in Taurus, collectively; it’s the perfect time to bathe in rives, read your favorite book outside, or catch sun rays by the beach.

As I mentioned last week, make sure you’re practicing moderation with Taurus season. Think about how easy it is to get caught up in the moment, and order one too many drinks, or make too many online purchases. It’s that sort of energy you need to watch out for. The “free” options, however, you should go nuts over. Meditating outside, hanging outside in a hammock, camping, engaging in play - those are the activities you need to be diving into - that’s what Venus in Taurus is all about.

Find those moments of play, creativity, and overall goodness, and try to really integrate them into your day. This is also a great time to schedule more dates with your partner or consider jumping into the dating scene if it’s been on your mind. It’s also, a beautiful reminder to cultivate one of the more important relationships — the one with yourself. Try taking yourself on a date, go to your favorite restaurant by yourself, or treat yourself to your favorite coffee shop and just take your time. Dating yourself is tough when you’re not used to it, but I promise Venus would want nothing more, especially right now.

Make space for moments and activities that make you feel good — sensually, creatively, and physically.

April 30 | Say hello to your power

Mars moves into Aries

Just as Venus is having her moment, so is Mars. You’ll notice that there seems to be a bit of a spark returning to your being. More energy behind your thoughts. The drive to finish that project, whether it’s mowing the lawn or getting that work project done — you’re thriving while doing it.

While this Aries energy feels good, remember it’s a marathon, not a race. Don’t burn yourself out with all this power rushing in. Be methodical (as hard as that might be) and try to use this moment to plan and execute. Being able to eventually cross off your whole list of tasks feels much better than rushing through and only getting halfway done because you’re too exhausted to finish the long-term game plan.

Don’t get too hot-headed (especially in conversation) or moreover — at yourself. Mars in Aries can really interject some much-needed passion, energy, and heat into your core, you just have to use it constructively. Especially folks with a lot of fire placements, y’all will need to make sure you’re not acting in excess. Fret not though about this transit, welcome in the bustling thoughts of new ideas, new passions, and exciting framework of what’s to come. Maybe even get a tattoo that you’ve been planning for, or celebrate with a new piercing! Mars loves those sorts of activities!

Welcome in the energy that’s knocking at your door and use its power constructively.

May 1 | Be extraordinarily kind to yourself

Venus in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius

Today in particular, you’re not going to want to join any art classes, go on new adventures, or even go on any dates. The odds of seeing an old flame, falling out of love with your new ventures, or feeling your creativity slip away are too close to comfort.

Don’t lose hope when today seems a little dull. It’s nothing personal, sometimes the stress of everyday life seems to pile up. If possible, check out of life today. Stay off social media and sip a smoothie outside with the birds.

Even if your head isn’t in the game, have grace with yourself today. It’s easy to think that you don’t deserve goodness, or to even focus on what others have (in both a positive and negative way). Stay out of your head, and go inward instead of letting external stressors ruin your day.

Treat yourself a little bit, and focus only on the things you can change.

If you need some help understanding how astrological transits will affect your day-to-day life, I’m here to help! A natal chart reading is especially helpful for folks who have never had an astrological reading and is the best place to start. Astrology has made my life make sense, and I’m here to offer that same sense of understanding and peace. Using Astrological knowledge in your everyday life can bring a sense of clarity and foresight like nothing else.

Weekly favs 💚

Meal prep 🥑 We noticed our weekly meals were getting a little repetitive, so we tried something new! I’m happy to report that this dish was amazing, harissa caramelized onions and chickpeas! We added more onions than it called for and added kidney beans and firm tofu. It was a hit, and garnished with some yogurt and cilantro - this recipe was just what we wanted — spicy, savory, and nutritious!

On my nightstand 📚 I just started The Open Air Life, for some feel-good nighttime reading and I’m quite pleased with how relaxing it’s been. It seems like a quick read, so I’ll report back next week with a recap! Anything that involves connecting to nature is my jam, especially when I can view it from another culture’s lens. If you’re a bookworm too, let’s connect on Goodreads!

May 1 | Happy Beltane!

Beltane, the ancient Gaelic festival marking the beginning of summer, is a celebration of fertility, fire, and renewal. Observed on May 1st, it represents the height of spring's vitality and the anticipation of warmer days ahead. Traditionally, Beltane rituals involve lighting bonfires to honor the sun's strength and encourage the growth of crops and livestock. It's a time for communities to come together, dance around the Maypole, and embrace the energy of the season. With flowers in bloom and the earth awakening, Beltane embodies the spirit of life's continual cycles and the joy of new beginnings.

If you don’t have anywhere you can celebrate, or merely don’t have the time there are other ways to celebrate. You can dress your altar in brightly colored ribbons, flowers, and herbs, or even make a tabletop Maypole! You can consume berries, freshly baked bread, mead, or honey in a special ceremony just for you! Light some frankincense, jasmine, or lavender incense and focus on your creativity, love, unions in your life, and honor your sexuality.

What’s in my cup ☕

I’m going through some health changes, so I’ve been incorporating protein shakes back into my diet. I’ve been adding adaptogenic mushrooms like cordyceps for energy and tremella for skin health.

I’m the kind of person who likes to habit stack or combine as many benefits as I can into one step. I like this plant-based protein + BCAA powder the best out of any that I’ve tried over the last decade and a half. You can use this code for 25% off your first order, too!

These are the Cordycepts and Tremella I’ve been using too, and have been using for about a year. I like to consume fruiting mushroom bodies versus mycelium or myceliated grain. Do your own research on what you think will be best for the results you’re after.
