Jan 11 | New Moon in Capricorn
You’ll notice a shift in your emotional state with the New Moon in Capricorn. You’ll be prompted to examine what your needs are to maintain stability. Ensure you’re taking accountability for your mental state and consequential self-care. Are you taking care of your needs? Are you hitting the pavement too hard? Who’s around to support you?
This New Moon encourages you to take stock of what you need to take your life to the next level. Capricorn energy is all about stability, structure, and lighting up your ambition. What can you change that will allow more space to thrive? Where can you alter your routine to allow more time for productivity, to add a sense of accomplishment to your day?
This New Moon is creating internal space to shift your perspective on what you’re capable of. Work with what you see as a restriction in your life. How can you overcome it?
Your boundaries and limitations will come to light over the next weeks, and show you where you have opportunities to grow. Instead of getting frustrated with these experiences, try to work with them positively. This lunation is a symbol of what you’re truly capable of, and highlights how determined you are to better your existence. However, make sure you’re not too hard on yourself, as Capricorn’s energy is determined and a bit stubborn. Don’t get encompassed by the dark that seems to be in abundance. Let it push you toward finding lightness and a state of flow.
Jan 13 | Mercury in Capricorn
Do you feel a little drained from your work? Has communication been a bit lagging? Say goodbye to Mercury in Saggitarius and hello to Mercury in Capricorn. You’re moving out of the daydreaming phase and into a period of accountability and structure. Don’t hesitate to half-ass anything, step into your power and own it.
This isn’t the time to pull any hypothetical triggers. Instead, get into planning mode. Roll right into looking at your quarterly goals for the year, especially around work and business. If you can, dive into physically planning it all out on paper so you can tactically view your year ahead. Vision boards are a powerful tool, which can help bring a sense of play into your work-related tasks, too. Whatever works to get you excited about the year ahead, put your whole heart into it. Harness the powerful sense of structure and stability that Capricorn interjects into your business, communications, and travel.
You might feel a little pushback about your ideas at work, or feel a rift in conversations around the water cooler. Don’t take it personally, and use these moments as a time to lean into active listening. Some folks might struggle with this placement a bit more than others. Mercury in Capricorn can feel restrictive, limiting, and a bit depressive. If you’re struggling to even find the motivation to power through, remember that the stars are on your side. The universe wants nothing more than you to succeed right now. Oftentimes, growth is uncomfortable. Sit with those uncomfortable moments and find lightness peeking through the cracks.

Lentils save the day, yet again
It’s been pretty sad in terms of our weekly menu at home. Lots of soft foods since I’m currently living my best old lady life. If you didn’t see it on my personal Instagram, I’ve been dealing with some dental issues. Hopefully, by the time this is published, it’ll be resolved. In the meantime, while I recover, I’m switching it up from dahl to soup!
This plant-based French onion soup always heals my heart and soul. It’s filling, flavorful, and warms me up on cold winter nights. The magic comes from carmelizing those onions to smithereens. We’ve even added local plant-based cheeses on top, and it’s super decadent.

New Moon Circle | Jan 11
This Thursday is the New Moon Circle that I’m cohosting with Amanda Young of YoungLife Wellness! I’ll have a recap post next week that will fill you in on the magic that this circle brings to our community. I really look forward to these circles. It’s truly incredible to see how much participating in, and witnessing, an open-hearted community really changes the vibration. The conversations we share, the meditations that follow, and the sound bath at the end is just divine. Physically seeing folks together under the New Moon, and working with the energy of the earth in a healing way is magic in itself.
What’s in my cup ☕
I’m still partaking in my nutritive tea cleanse that I mentioned last week. Here’s a little reminder of what it entails:
I’m dedicating 20 days to the Blood Tonic, and then 10 days to Wildy Healthy, both from High Garden Tea. I’ve done this routine for the last two years and felt so much nourishment. This isn’t a weight loss cleanse, but instead, focusing on supporting my body with extra nutrients and minerals and supporting it so I can let go of some energetic stagnation.
As far as loose-leaf teas go, this is my favorite way to make my infusions. Using a French press enables all of the leaves and herbs to fully expand and release all of their yummy compounds. Plus, keeping it covered helps keep all of that herbal goodness in your tea. This is the French press I use, and I have been using it for the better part of a year. I can’t stress enough how important it is to use a glass tea infuser. If not glass, stainless steel is second best.
