Mercury and Venus have been retrograde, moving forward, backward, and forward again through their retrospective signs. The time has come to say goodbye to each of those housed transits and welcome a much-needed shift into our lives. With the days becoming shorter, it’s important to focus on how we can welcome more light into our lives. Let us also remember though, how beautiful this period of rest is as we move into the cooler months.

Oct 04 Mercury moves into Libra | With Mercury finally switching into Libra after being in Virgo for quite a while, you should feel a little lighter. Lately, you might have noticed yourself pushing toward perfection, and teetering on the line of obsession instead of letting things simmer. You can take a deep breath, and see things from a much more balanced view. Your work, travel plans, and daily routines will loosen their grip on their strife. Take stock of where you felt resistance lately, and see where you can meet that with softness. Make sure you listen more in conversation but also don’t lose your voice. Look at yourself lovingly, but hold yourself accountable. See where you can learn from duality, and find your sense of wonder again.
Oct 07 Saturn + Venus oppose one another | Where you feel a knee-jerk reaction to say “no”, try sitting with that feeling and see where it’s coming from. It’s important to deconstruct your restrictions, boundaries, and especially social constructs. The environmental conditioning that has been subconsciously presented to us, has a way of sneaking by undetected. Get curious about what lights you up and what doesn’t. Pick up an old hobby, or investigate a new one. It’s important to not let life get stale, and find inspiration in your daily routine. If you’re feeling lost on the idea of “finding what feels good”, try sitting with the feelings that arise instead of just trying to get to the bottom of things. The way you present yourself and walk through life has been conditioned too, so it’s important to remember to consciously express yourself. Adorn yourself with colors you love, and fashion that inspires you, and accessorize accordingly. Don’t get lost in fitting in, or doing things the way “you’ve always done”. It’s much easier to stay comfortable, but, true magic happens when you explore your boundaries and test them yourself in a positive way. Let this transit be a reminder to embrace fluidity and plasticity. When you feel like you can’t express yourself in a certain way, figure out why.
Oct 08 Venus moves into Virgo | Don’t fall victim to comparing yourself to others. Remember to hold yourself accountable for choosing compassionate self-love. This is a perfect time to assess your social media feed, and examine what it’s truly “feeding”. Look at who you’re following, and get curious about the why behind it. If you’re following them because you’re longing for a life like theirs, you’ll lose the magic present in your everyday life. Diversify your intake of media, especially the sources, presenters, and socioeconomic factors that play into it. We all fall into the pattern of self-comparison, but, it’s important to work with it in a healthy way. It’s perfectly fine to not like where you are right now, but, have you tried figuring out why? Don’t get too caught up in the big picture; instead, find tiny adjustments you can make throughout your week to better align you with your best self, the one that lives in your mind's eye. This is the season to plan out your creative goals and create a functional blueprint. Though, make sure you don’t get caught up in the fine details. As long as you keep your head screwed on straight, and make every decision with the energy of love behind it, your future self will be set up for success.

What’s in my cup ☕
This week, my cup is pretty empty if I’m being honest. I’m a little stressed and emotionally frazzled. But, I’ve been leaning on supportive herbs like passionflower, CBD, kava, and skullcap to help bring me down to Earth. It’s important to take stock of what’s going on inside of you and act accordingly. If you’re feeling anxious first thing in the morning, maybe try drinking less caffeine. If you need more support, try some cordyceps mushrooms. It’s all about balance.
