It’s clear that I’m still getting used to working day shifts. Working the night shift was tough, but it’s even tougher learning a whole new routine. If you’re interested in how I’m adjusting and what I’m doing to make the switch easier, you can follow me on my personal Instagram, or my business page. If Facebook is more your style, click here.
Now that we’re starting to lose daylight hours, I’ll be taking out my happy lamp to support my brain through the winter. I have a video explaining why I use it, here. Basically, I use this lamp to help me adjust to the darker mornings during winter, and supplement some bright light. It helps my circadian rhythm and even boosts my mood. You can steal the exact one I use, here!
Speaking of light - I hope you all had a beautiful autumn equinox! I celebrated by meditating for a moment in the rising sunlight before work. Sometimes, social media makes us feel like our spiritual practice has to be grandiose and look a certain way. I felt perfectly content taking a moment to acknowledge this moment in the year with meditation and deepen my appreciation throughout the season.
This week has a lot of Mars energy. You’ll feel the underlying robust current below the surface. If you work with these transits, odds are you’ll have a productive week. But, if things start to go awry, remember to counterbalance those combusting emotions with peace and divine space. It’s all a balance, after all.
Tuesday tunes 🎵
Talk about a progressive track! It’s no secret that I love this band. This song takes you on a ride and a good one at that. There are a ton of peaks and valleys to take you somewhere else during your day.
“The sun is climbing out of hiding
We're surviving
The light is shining
Who is guiding?
No more hiding”
The current star forecast 🌠
SEP 26 - VOC Moon | The Moon oftentimes goes “void of course” or VOC. A void of course Moon can be described by the Moon falling away from any lunar aspects in mundane Astrology. VOC Moons happen all of the time, it’s nothing to keep at the front of your radar. I mostly find them to be especially useful to avoid during elections (picking an event due to the Astrological forecast.) However, I’ve personally found that I can be a little more emotional, or even, lacking certain emotions during VOC Moons. Everyone experiences the transits across a varying spectrum, but, just be aware if you come across any of the more difficult emotions this day, and know that throughout the week, especially after the Full Moon, those feelings should dissipate.
SEP 29 - Aries Full Moon | Full Moons come with an obvious energy shift. This Full Moon in Aries will bring along themes such as rebalancing, ego trips, displaced energy, inner agitation, or sparking motivation. This Full Moon involves the body of Libra and the mind of Aries. You might notice that you feel quick to anger or overwhelm, or maybe even feel old emotions that you thought you dealt with rise to the surface. You can work with this Full Moon by meditating on the more difficult feelings that are bubbling up, and see what emotion lies beneath them. See where you can find truth instead of assumption, and really dig for clarity. If you feel overwhelmed, remember to honor yourself and take a step back. No person or item is worth you losing your cool over. Have confidence in the balance of the universe, and know that every day cannot be cursed by the dark, there’s light ahead - always.
SEP 30 - Mercury & Neptune trine | Are you struggling with getting bounds of ideas out of your head and onto paper? Maybe you feel like your head is in the clouds daydreaming about formulating your success. Either way, this Mercury Neptune aspect will swing in one of two directions. Either you’ll come out of this aspect feeling productive - or the opposite. It all depends on how you work with the dreamy-ness presented to you. You can let it fuel your workings, by being productive and formulating a plan to follow in the future. Or you’ll get caught up in the beauties of vast possibilities in front of you. Of course, you’ll need to determine if now is the right time to act on your dreams. However, it’s always the right time to work toward being the best version of yourself, and sometimes, that even means taking a break. Really sit with the messages coming through right now that pertain to your future and what you want from it. See where you can adjust, and let the positive power of daydreaming work for you - not against you.
SEP 30 - Moon & Mars opposition | You’ll still be feeling the effects of the Aries Full Moon earlier in the week. Be aware if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or if you’re just down in the dumps ™. It’s not a time of sadness, per se, but it is a time when your emotions can get the best of you. If possible, don’t schedule too many meetings this day. You might notice your social battery running a little low, and your inner thoughts escaping in the form of brash comments toward others. Try to create more space between you and your social or coworker circle. If it’s in your practice, this is a great day to journal and constructively get your feelings out of your head and onto paper. If you feel called to really work with this transit, try writing down exactly how you’re feeling, and then either burn, tear, or shred what you just wrote. Give yourself extra bonus points for working this prompt into your Full Moon ritual. Let go of the emotions and feelings not serving you anymore. Rid yourself of the excess fire that you’ve been holding onto in a passionate way, where you really let yourself feel your emotions.
What’s in my cup ☕
Recently I’ve switched things up and I’m reaching for a more dark tea in the mornings. I’ve been making a decaffeinated Earl Grey with oat milk and a very special addition. Last year we foraged turkey tail mushrooms that we dehydrated, I have a video on it, here. We also found someone who locally foraged chaga mushrooms, which is still on my must-find foraging list! I’ve been adding the local turkey tail and chaga to my milky Earl Grey for the most cozy and nutritious start to my day. It doesn’t change the flavor much, but it helps my immune system and the chaga gives me a nice stable energy boost (but without the jitters of caffeine).
If you don’t have access to foraged mushrooms, the second best option I’ve found is this site, here. Real Mushrooms has been a game changer for me since I’m so particular about which brand I use for my daily consumption. Their cordyceps are my favorite, but, you can find turkey tail and chaga on there too!
As always, thank you so much for taking the time to get to the bottom of this email!
