It’s a packed week, Astrologically speaking. We have a handful of impactful transits, but the one I’m most excited about is the Venus retrograde. Retrogrades have a bad reputation, but personally, I think they’re a necessary action to inspire rebirth of all kinds! I’m hoping to have my YouTube up and running by the time this retrograde is over, but you’re welcome to follow me there in the meantime! I’m also on Threads, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and even LinkedIn!
Let’s dive right into this week’s Cosmic Insights, it’s gonna be a juicy one!
Weekly tarot insights 🔮
The wisdom of lions mane is here to guide us through the next seven days. That means we’re tapping into our yang energy. Lead this week coming from a place of compassionate leadership toward your ambitions or goals. Be aware that when we step into our yang energy, we can feel a displacement toward yin energy. Be aware of any imbalances, and try not to let vanity or ego black the current of love that flows beneath you. Lions mane is known for expanding our perception, mental skills, and nerve endings. It has a very Mercurial nature about it, making it a great aid for communication, brilliance, and intelligence. Let all of Mercury’s energy flow through you, and compassionately guide you on your endeavors. If you need a reminder to tap into your focus and meditation, lions mane can be a great companion. Like this fungus, choose the healing route by choosing factors that assist your cognition or mental performance. Maybe this is the week that you experiment with sobriety or expanded consciousness, or even try meditation for the first time. Either way, tap into that powerful Mercury energy source and let it flow (but only from a place of love).
If you’re looking for a more physical tool to use lions mane mushrooms, I utilize this supplement to help with nerve growth factor and mental clarity in my own morning routine.
Tuesday tunes 🎵
This song has been stuck in my head all week. For me, this type of music gives me that summer feel-good energy boost. I’ve been listening to it before work, and it really uplifts the mood.
The current star forecast 🌠
The New Moon in Cancer exacted yesterday, July 17th. You’ll feel like you intuitively want to pick up things where they left off, and while that’s not a bad thing, it’s something you need to take into account. Make sure you’re not stretching beyond your means, but hopefully, you got to get out in the world and put yourself out there. There’s honestly nothing more exhilarating than trying something new. The New Moon in Cancer reminds us that it’s okay to leave the shell of comfort every once and a while and to grow, we need to leave the house every now and again, especially when it’s uncomfortable. You never know how it might just turn out!
With Mercury in Leo, and Jupiter in Taurus yesterday July 17th, you have an array of opposing views, morals, and communication preferences. Your conversation and charisma might be on point, but make sure the fine details are all worked out - and you’re not functioning on dreams and delusion. That’s not to say that things won’t have a way to work themselves out, but you will need to be methodical (in just the slightest way.) The positivity strikes when you allow your luck to push you to be daring and spontaneous. The rest just flows from there. Take this transit as an excuse to act on impulse and believe in the nice things for once. Believe that things will work out, believe that you have what it takes for your next big break, and believe you’re capable of receiving love. Fall into the Tauruan delusion that everything has its beauty; it’s just in the eye of the beholder. Leo also poses as a possible distraction, but stay focused, and stay the course.
The Sun in Leo on July 22nd can bring up a lot of internal feelings around ego, shame, guilt, and righteousness. It’s a double whammy when this placement happens in a difficult natal aspect too. With the Sun in Leo, you’ll want to try to filter your actions, and make sure you’re coming from a receptive heart space, to counteract the pressed energy that the Sun in Leo can bring. Things can feel rushed, or quick to fruition - but make sure you don’t lose where you’ve come from. Remember your roots, and always come back to what feels good for your future self (not just the current moment.) Leo can make us impulsive in our nature, and bring us to a sense of quickness, but, all placements aside, the Sun in Leo should feel energetically brighter than it has been. Think sunshine, good conversation, and summer-time flings. They’re all memorable, but it’s good to keep them all in check, and in moderation.
On July 22nd, we also have Venus stationing retrograde. Normally, there’s a lot of fear-mongering about retrograding planets, and what they mean, especially online. But the Venus Retrograde allows us to take account of exactly what’s serving us, and what’s not and gives us the time and space to rework things. Now, that’s not saying that you need to have a makeover or a rebrand, but if you’ve been toying with the idea, now is a good time to experiment. Don’t make any permanent changes, but allow your creativity a place to stretch its metaphorical legs. Give yourself space, both mentally and physically to see what you’ve been longing for, especially when it comes to self-expression. If you need more guidance from Venus on where this transit might impact you, look at where your natal Venus is stationed, and what house Leo occupies. Or you can leave a comment below, or reach out on any social platform and I’ll be happy to help!
Good eats 🥑
You might not know that I was a vegan for nearly 20 years. Recently though, I’ve been introducing local organic eggs into my diet. I don’t have any plans to stray away from my dairy-free pescatarian food choices right now. But, it’s been interesting to experiment with new (to me) foods!
I’ve been digging this gluten-free whole grain toast, with some cultured dairy-free butter, organic arugula, local eggs from Shady Brook Farms, and local organic and pesticide-free tomato from Mighty Gnome.
ICYMI 🗞️
We visited one of our favorite hiking trails called Newfound Gap, TN! If you’re in the area, you definitely need to visit this spot! The views from the parking lot alone are gorgeous! The trail itself is a tad difficult for beginners, but, it’s a fun challenge!
What’s in my cup ☕
I discovered my favorite way to make a morning cup of coffee, and it has no funky additives! I’ve been adding organic powdered oat milk, organic cacao powder, cinnamon, and a dash of organic maple syrup! It’s like a hug in a mug!
I know this week feels like an action-packed or even a heavy sort of week - and it is. Just remember that these sorts of periods of action can be handled best when you’re approaching the week with your glass already half full. Take time to devote to yourself, either via self-care or even divination. I’ve been carving out more time to journal, and more time to meditate too since I know some of these upcoming transits will be aspecting rough placements in my natal chart.
Don’t stress, you got this! You’ve gotten through 100% of your worst days thus far!
Thanks for hanging out with me! I’ll see ya next week!
